Estadio Governador Magalhaes Pinto, or Estadio Mineirao as it is commonly known, is a soccer stadium built in 1965 in Belo Horizonte, a city of 2.4 million people in the Brazilian State of Minas Gerais. Home to football clubs Atletico Mineiro, Cruzeiro Esporte Club, and at times, America Minerio, the official capacity of the stadium is 75,000 people, however, the stadium is rumored to have held as many as 132,000 for a soccer match. Estadio Mineirao has also hosted the Brazilian national football team, and is used for music festivals in addition to soccer matches.

As one of the largest stadiums in Brazil, Estadio Mineirao will likely play host to World Cup competition in 2014, should the stadium upgrades required by the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) be completed. The stadium is located at the northern edge of the campus of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, in close proximity to downtown Belo Horizonte, and the Pampulha Airport.
