Eurotunnel Terminal

The Channel Tunnel is a rail tunnel linking Britain and France, along 49.7 kilometers out of which 37 under the sea between Folkestone and Coquelles. The tunnel was built by Transmanche Link (TML), a consortium of ten construction companies, five French and five British, established in 1986. It is operated by the Anglo-French Eurotunnel.

The crossing (cars, buses, motorcycles, trucks) provided by shuttle train takes about 33 minutes from one platform to another. The shuttle company is officially called "Eurotunnel Shuttle. Eurostar line that standard TGV trains designed to be adapted to the constraints of the tunnel. Originally the tunnel project, implied movement of trains at night between the United Kingdom and the continent as well. Trains (cars Nightstar [2]) were designed and built for this service but they were never used for that (they were sold to the Canadian operator Via Rail). The freight trains between France and England are currently provided only by the SNCF and EWS with locomotives class 92.
