Hotels near Experience Music Project Museum, Seattle, United States .

Located at 325 5th Avenue North in the center of the city of Seattle, Washington, the Experience Music Project Museum is an interactive, state of the art facility that allows visitors to experience music and related technologies in a very unique environment. The architecturally-eccentric structure, which looks like something taken out of a 1960s psychedelic experiment, is known in full as the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, and is located directly across from the Seattle Center.

Established in 2000 by the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation, Paul Allen, the Experience Music Project Museum has various displays and exhibits, most of which are highly interactive and technology intensive, focusing on popular music in general as well as Seattle musicians of fame such as Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana. A unique feature of the complex is that it has a monorail which literally passes right through it, connecting with several other nearby spots in downtown.

The Experience Music Project Museum is open from 10am-5pm during the winter months and 10am-7pm during summer months, with the first Thursday of every month including free admission from 5pm-8pm. Otherwise, admission is charged $15 for adults and $12 for children. Learn more about the Experience Music Project Museum as its homepage by visiting http://www.empsfm.org/.
