Faneuil Hall

Hotels near Faneuil Hall, Boston, United States .

One of the most popular tourist attractions in all of Boston is Faneuil Hall, a downtown spot that's been both a meeting hall and a market since 1742. In its current incarnation, there's not much historical stuff going on in terms of sales, but the building has been kept in immaculate condition and has seen many important historical events.

Back before The United States was even a country, Faneuil Hall was the site of many a fiery speech encouraging independence. Samuel Adams was one of the famous speakers to urge independence here. John Kerry conceded the election in 2004 right in front of Faneuil Hall. The building has a number of unique attributes, including open arcades and a cupola. The grasshopper weather vane has been there since the beginning, and is one of the most unique characteristics of the building.

Travelers looking to do the whole Freedom Trail will definitely come across Faneuil Hall, as it's one of the most famous stops on the tour. In fact, it's one of the most popular tourist spots in the entire country. In addition to the historical building, Faneuil Hall itself is now a part of a larger market, which includes South Market and Quincy Market, too. The buildings act as an indoor mall, perfect for those colder Boston months, and also have a number of restaurants.

Located close to the North End and only a short walk from most of downtown, Faneuil Hall is near to many of Boston's most popular hotels, including The Marriott-Custom House, The Millennium Bostonian Hotel, and The Harborside Inn.
