Also called the Bauernhaus Museum, the structure has sat on Ochsenheide hill in the town since 1917. The Farmhouse Museum contains the Möllering farmhouse from 1590, a post mill from 1686, a bake house from 1764, a store house from 1795, and a flax mill from 1826.

The goal of the museum is without question to show the social history in the Ravensberg region through the mid 19th century. The Farmhouse Museum further creates a reflection on farm life, but does not simplify it. The countryside way of life is presented with a complex economic and social system. For the museum's contents and goals, it is easy to see why the Farmhouse Museum won European Museum of the Year in 2001.

More specifically the museum can be found in the town of Bielefeld on Dornberger Str. 82. The Farmhouse Museum keeps the barnyard door open from February to December, Tuesday through Friday, 10AM to 6PM. On weekends the museum stays open from 11AM to 6PM. Admission cost just 3 euros per person.
