Built between the years of 1815 and 1816, the Farmington Historic Home Museum is located at 3033 Bardstown Road in the southeastern portion of Louisville, Kentucky. Also known as the Farmington Historic Plantation, the main house is an elegant Federal-style structure of some 15 rooms originally built for John Speed, a local plantation owner, with strong indications of a Jeffersonian influence in the design.

The museum focuses on what plantation life was like for the family and other residents on the plantation, including the slave laborers who harvested the enormous hemp crops. The museum is open to the public from Tuesday through Saturday, with the hours of operation being 10am-4pm, with tours starting every hour on the hour. Admission costs $9 for adults and $4 for children, with a discount applicable for seniors who only pay $8.
