Aalborg Zoo is situated on the edge of a green beech forest high above Aalborg in one of Denmark’s most beautiful areas.
Aalborg garden was inaugurated in 1935. Today is one of the most visited gardens around 375,000 visitors a year. Area of Aalborg zoo is about 8 and1 / 2 acres. From this surface around 1 acre is arranged as a savanna for some of the largest African animals.
The purpose for which it was created is to preserve nature and protect species threatened with extinction. Aalborg Zoo has at present more than 1,200 animals and 138 species.

The zoological garden offers some facilities for the visitors like free parking for more than 500 vehicles, support for people with disabilities (those people who help disabled persons don’t pay entrance fee), areas with changing tables, luggage boxes, dog in leash access.
It takes between 3 and 5 hours to visit the Aalborg Zoo. The Skovbakken restaurant inside the zoo offers the possibility of having lunch. Here one can choose to stay inside or outside and enjoy a beautiful view over the zoo
