If you are looking for a luxurious and upscale luau in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, look no further tan Feast at Lele. Lele is the ancient name for Lahaina, and the Feast at Lele takes place the same beach where the royal family of Maui would feast and entertain. Each luau is performed for between 180-200 people. The show ´s creative director is Robert “Lopoka” Aguiar and takes spectators on a dance and song journey through Polynesia, starting with the hula of Hawaii. The dance then shifts to New Zealand, home of the Maori people, who display facial tattoos. The men dance the Haka, a war dance, women use poi balls for a beautiful dance that celebrates nature. Then, off to Tahiti, where a titillating dance is performed with a lot of sensuality. The evening ends at Samoa “the cradle of Polynesia”, with a famed fiery knife dance, rhythmic clapping and staccato slapping of legs. The menu prepared by Chef James McDonald and offers traditional Polynesian staples, including banana, taro, sweet potato chips, imu roasted kalua pig, fresh fish, poi, and from New Zealand, sea bean duck salad. The show is offered at 505 Front Street, Lahaina, Maui, and costs $110 per person. The show if performed nightly and reservations must be made in advance.
