Aarhus University is situated in the city of Aarhus in Denmark. This university is the second largest and second oldest university of Denmark (after “Copenhagen’s University).

The Aarhus University came into existence in 1928. Initially this university was known as the “University of Teaching in Jutland”, with the enrolment of just sixty-four students. During the earlier stages, classrooms were rented from the nearby Technical College, and the entire faculty consisted of 4 associate professors and 1 philosophy professor.

Eventually, Aarhus expanded and now has eight faculties. The most heavily enrolled of these are Humanities, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Science and Agricultural Science.

This University is ranked number eighty-one in 2008 “QS-World University Rankings” which is based on quality of education, student satisfaction, research capabilities and post-graduate employment rates.
Aarhus University adopted ambitious plan for the 2008 - 2012 period. As per the European universities traditions, education and research are the basic building blocks of any university and Aarhus has committed to a major expansion of its research facilities, drawing some of the finest scientific minds from around the world to its campuses.
