The museum is owned by the city and run by the fire department, which hopes that the museum provides its visitors with an understanding of the history of firefighting in the city.

The Fireman's Hall Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, from ten in the morning until four-thirty in the afternoon, as well as on the first Friday of every month from ten in the morning until nine in the evening. Admission to the museum is free, but donations are both accepted and encouraged.
