Founded as the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in July of 1900, today the Firestone Agricultural Tire Division continues to follow the vision of Harvey S. Firestone. The namesake of the company, Harvey worked to get rubber tires on not only farm tractors, but bicycles, automobiles and carriages. In 1932 after producing the original tractor tire, the Agricultural Tire Division continued to grow into the international giant of a company that exists today, its corporate headquarters based in Des Moines, Iowa. In 2007 ranked the fourth “Best Place for Business” by Forbes Magazine, it’s easy to see why many large corporations have significant operations in and around Des Moines.
