The First Baptist Church of America, located at 75 North Main Street, has a long and active tradition in religious service and worship in the local Providence community. The church is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches of Rhode Island and the American Baptist Churches association. The baptistry, rear stairs and foyer entrances were added back in 1884, and the church gained a handicap accessible entrance in 1999. Numerous weddings and other social events take place regularly in the Meeting House of the church, which is available at no cost to members of the congregation. The auditorium features an organ and choir area, which was built in 2000, and a public address system was installed in 1994. Other church features include a nursery room, ministry offices, committee group meeting rooms, a fellowship room, kitchen, library room, and a souvenir nook.

Sunday School and Adult Forum start at 10 am, and worship begins at 11 am.
