First Presbyterian Church San Antonio

Hotels near First Presbyterian Church San Antonio, San Antonio, United States .

The original First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio was built in 1846 and was a tiny building made of adobe brick. The church’s location was moved two more times, the first to a larger location and the second time to escape an inappropriate neighbor, the Buckhorn Saloon. The church now sits as the corner of Fourth and Alamo, a massive stone structure with Gothic-style architecture. At one point, the church had the largest Presbyterian congregation in the South with over 2,500 members.

First Presbyterian Church is located at 404 N. Alamo Street in San Antonio. Free parking lots are provided; the church lobby and Welcome Center can be found at the Avenue E entrance. The church also includes a bookstore, library and childcare center. Traditional as well as contemporary services are offered in addition to radio broadcasts for those who are unable to attend. For more information about the church, visit http://www.fpconline.org/.

Accommodation options in the area include the Sheraton Gunter Hotel San Antonio, the Travelodge San Antonio-Alamo and the Crowne Plaza Hotel Riverwalk.
