Flagler College, located in St. Augustine, Florida, is a private, four-year liberal arts college home to just under 3,000 students, the “Saints.” Established in 1968, the school is known for its famous centerpiece, Ponce de León Hall, built as a hotel in 1888 and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With 19 beautiful campus acres and the Atlantic Ocean just four miles away, it’s easy to see why Lawrence Lewis, Jr., grandson of the industrialist who built the hotel, Henry Flagler, wanted this to be the setting for his liberal arts college. With over 20 degree awarding majors in liberal arts, education and business areas of study, a well known Deaf Education program, and 12 varsity sports teams competing in Division II of the NCAA, it can be said that the vision of Lewis has enjoyed success.
