With antique and classic cars, rare locomotives, original snowmobiles, and vintage steam tractors on display, the Forney Museum is true to its slogan. Located near the juncture of Interstate 70 and Interstate 25 in Denver, the Forney Museum got its start as a private classic automobile collection, when the wife of founder J.D. Forney gave her husband a 1921 Kissel Tourister, the same car that he drove when courting her.

Today the Forney Transportation Museum occupies a 70,000 square-foot facility, displaying a wide variety of vintage, rare, and classic vehicles. Of special note are the Big Boy Locomotive, one of only 25 ever built, and the world’s largest steam locomotive, Amelia Earhart’s Kissel Speedster, and a 1927 Rolls Royce New Phantom.

The Forney Museum is located at 4303 Brighton Boulevard in Denver, and is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 A.M. until 4 P.M. Admission rates range from $4 - $8, and parking is available on-site, free of charge to visitors.
