Fort DeRussy, located on Kalia Road in historic Honolulu, Hawaii, houses the highly-regarded U.S. Army Museum of Hawai'i. Fort DeRussy was originally constructed as a fort to protect Hawaii from external threats to its safety, but the old fort has since been turned into a historical museum. Visitors to the army museum are amazed at the variety of its exhibits, which showcase tank guns, helicopters, vacant bunkers, and other remnants of the military past of this great state. Particularly important considering the state's role in World War Two with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the fort tells a story about the military history of Hawaii from the distant past through the conflict in Vietnam. Displays involving photographs realistic battle sounds bring the exhibits to life.

Office hours run from Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 am to 4:15 pm. The office is closed on Mondays, and admission is free to all.

Visitors can find accommodation at the nearby Outrigger Reef on the Beach and the Castle Ocean Resort Hotel.
