Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) is located within Fort Lauderdale in Broward County, five miles from downtown FL. The airport dates back to 1941 when it served as a training base for Navy pilots during the war. In 1947, military authorities passed the airport into the city’s hands. Today it is managed by the Community and Economic Development Department.

One of the busiest general aviation airports in the entire U.S., FXE serves more than 200,000 aircrafts annually. With no terminals and no lines, travelers can move quickly through FXE and have easy access to I-95. Taxi and car rental services are available out of the airport.
