The Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) hosts concerts, exhibitions, banquets, meetings and conferences as well as Christmas parties. It has all of the modern technology facilities expected of a conference centre, including wireless broadband and disabled person's facilities. There is also an online shop and booking facility.

There has been a settlement at Aberdeen for the last 8000 years and the city has a long Royal connection, beginning with Robert the Bruce. Often called the Granite City, in the 18th to 20th centuries the buildings were built from local granite, containing the mineral mica, which caused the buildings to sparkle with silver flecks. Aberdeen has a sandy coastline and the discovery of North Sea Oil offshore in the 1970s increased the City's prosperity.

Attractions include the Kings Golf Course around two miles from the Exhibition Centre and the Pittrodrie Stadium, also two miles away, although there are many historical buildings to visit as well as pubs, restaurants and theatres.

Dyce Airport, which serves Aberdeen, is four and a half miles away, whilst the City centre has rail and road links. There is on site parking at the AECC, but for those who do not wish to drive, there is a park and ride bus service from the City, three miles away.

The nearest Hotel is the Holiday Inn, a modern three star next to the AECC, where a room costs from 59 Euros. However, there are many hotels and bed and breakfast establishments in Aberdeen and some castles accept guests.
