Sitting in Brirgu, Malta, Fort St. Angelo is a longstanding piece of military
history. It was constructed sometime during the Roman era, and has withstood
several major attacks. The primary attack being the Great Siege of Malta in 1565,
when the fort was instrumental in a bloody defeat of the invading Ottoman Empire.

Today Fort St. Angelo is the home of the Order of the Knights of St. John and a
maritime museum. This attraction is not open to the general public, in order to
view it permission must be requested from the Order’s embassy.
