Fort Thüngen known to the locals as There Acorns is a fort in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. The structure is a ruin because most of it was destroyed as part of the Treaty of London in 1867. Only three towers and the foundation remained. The nickname Three Acorns comes from the fact that the three reaming towers have acorns at their peak.
Fort Thüngen underwent more renovations in the lat 1990’s to make room for the Luxembourg museum of modern art.
