It served as a functioning city hall for the city until 1971 and today operates as The History Center museum and is the headquarters of the Fort Wayne Historical Society. It currently contains 23,000 artifacts dedicated to the region’s history, ranging from the Ice Age to the 20th century.

Featured exhibits in Fort Wayne Old City Hall include Miami Indian History and Anthony Wayne. The building also hosts several special events throughout the year such as lectures and panels. Open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon to 5:00 p.m., the History Center costs $5.00 for adults with lower fees for senior citizens and children.
