The Fountain of Youth Park in Vilano Beach, Florida, is the legendary site of the spring said to bestow eternal youth, eagerly sought by the early Florida explorer, Ponce de Leon. Ponce de Leon explored what he thought was an island (Florida) in 1513, in search of this elusive fountain. He was not the first, however, to seek a fountain of youth, as legends from lands as varied as Africa and Asia make mention of such a fountain. The Fountain of Youth Park sits at 11 Magnolia Avenue, upon 15 acres in the St. Augustine district of Florida. Over the years, the park has contained citrus farms and an estate, which was purchased by one Dr. Louella Day McConnell, who began to charge admission to visitors desiring to drink from the property's free-flowing spring. Today, numerous trails picnic areas can be found throughout this archeological park, which also hosts many weddings.

The park is open from 9 AM to 5 PM year-round, except December 25. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $5 for children, and free for kids under 6.

For lodging, consider the Ocean Sands Beach Inn.
