Frank H. McClung Museum

Hotels near Frank H. McClung Museum, Knoxville (Tennessee), United States .

Knoxville has a number of different museums, but one of the most popular is The Frank H. McClung Museum, owned and operated by The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. While other museums and historical institutions around town might be more focused on the particular history of Eastern Tennessee, The Frank H. McClung Museum instead prefers to showcase an array of exhibits on anthropology, archeology, and natural history, as well as different forms of artisan or decorative arts.

The Frank H. McClung Museum has a number of permanent exhibits, as well as temporary and traveling showcases of art and natural history. Some of the best aspects of the permanent collection are The Civil War Experience exhibition, as well as the museum's extensive collection of prehistorical artifacts.

Built in 1963, The Frank H. McClung Museum is open Monday through Saturday from nine in the morning until five in the afternoon, and on Sundays from one until five. The museum is also closed on major holidays, and admission is always free.

Located on The University of Tennessee in Knoxville campus, The Frank H. McClung Museum is close to a number of hotels, including The Days Inn Knoxville, The Cumberland House Knoxville, and The Hotel Indigo Knoxville.
