Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof is the largest station in the city of Frankfurt in Germany. Frankfurt am Main Hauptbahnhof station is the main station of the German Railways (DB) in Frankfurt am Main, located in Hesse.
The terminus was opened on August 18, 1888 and in 1924 it was extended. In 1956 electrification of the tracks in the station completed. The station was hardly damaged during the Second World War.

Hauptbahnhof means "main station". It is an important multimodal traffic hub which is served by national, international and regional trains, S-Bahn trains, metro and buses. Many fast trains stop here. With the annual passenger traffic of 130 million, the station is one of the most popular European stations. It has 27 platforms. There are 20 passenger corridors among the tracks and a total of 25 tracks. The closest airports to the station are: Frankfurt and Egelsbach, located 9.1 km and 16 km away.
