Hotels near Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park, Baltimore, United States .

The Fredrick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park has been designated as a national heritage site and it essentially serves as a museum on the history of these two iconic figures, the history of the African American community in Baltimore, African American maritime history, the traditions of shipping in and around the Chesapeake Bay, and the founding of the Chesapeake Marine Railway and Dry Dock Company.

The center is composed of some 5,000 square feet of permanent and temporary gallery space as well as interactive learning stations that convey knowledge on the above topics through audio recordings, artists' renderings, maps and images of historic value, artifacts and archaeological findings.

Admissions to the museum and park will cost visitors $8 for the general public, and $7.50 for seniors and $7 for students above 6 years of age (under 6 means free entry). As of August 2009, the museum operates from 10am-5pm Tuesdays through Fridays.
