Fredericksburg Confederate Cemetery is located at William Street and Washington Avenue in Fredericksburg and is also a city cemetery. Over 3,300 Confederate soldiers (more than 2,000 of unknown identities) lie here. The remains of 6 Confederate generals – including Daniel Ruggles, Dabney Maury, Carter Stevenson and Seth Barton – are also located on the site. The Ladies Memorial Association began the cemetery in 1867 as they were dealing with all of the dead soldiers in the area. A monument dedicated to the Confederate soldier was dedicated in 1884.

Open daily, visitors enter on Washington Street. Every Memorial Day, the Ladies Memorial Association holds a special service to commemorate the dead.
