Fremont Amtrak Station (Amtrak code FMT) is located at 37260 Fremont Blvd., in the same place as the old Centerville Depot and museum. The station serves not just Amtrak trains but also has Thruway Bus service for connections to Capitol Corridor trains. For Thruway Bus connections to San Joaquin trains, customers are directed to the Fremont Bus Stop (FRT).

The Capitol Corridor line goes from Auburn in northeast California to San Jose, just below the Bay area, via Sacramento and Oakland in the East Bay. Other stops include Roseville, San Francisco, Berkeley, Hayward and Santa Clara. Customers are encouraged to bring bikes aboard.

The Fremont station has no ticket office, but travelers can buy tickets at the automated Quik Trak ticket machines from Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm (unavailable on Weekends). The station hours in general are from Monday to Thursday 6:30 am to 8:30 pm and on Fridays from 8 am to 12 noon. There are no baggage check services or help with baggage in Fremont. Waiting rooms are open to ticketed passengers.
