Fuengirola Zoo
Fuengirola zoo is located in the city of Fuengrola , Spain and was originally built in the 1970´s. In 1998 Rain Forest Company took over the zoo and set out to entirely redesign and expand the zoo aiming to create the latest “full-immersion zoo” concept recreating the tropical forests of Madagascar, Equatorial Africa and Southeast Asia. The Fuengirola Zoo was reopened in 2001 and has set new standards for other zoos in Europe.

The zoo has over 140 species represented, and a total of over 1300 individual animals, apparently happy in their newly created environments. The variety of animals is quite big including birds, mammals such as the gorilla, hippopotamus, leopard and tiger, reptiles such as the crocodile and python and many fish species.

The zoo provides educational tours for adults and children. Also in the months of July and August the zoo stays open till midnight allowing visitors to explore the zoo and its residents at night time. There is a restaurant on site and a huge playground next door to keep the young ones entertained.
The park has good disabled access with most of the zoo grounds being flat and free from steps and other difficult obstacles.
The admission fee varies from 8,50€ for adults to 6 € for senior citizens and children up to 12 and free for children under 4. Also there is an1 euro discount for passengers arriving on the Malaga local train.
The zoo is very family orientated with it's themed restaurants, open spaces and play and picnic areas for adults and children together.
