Fukuoka Airport is located 3 km east of Hakata Station in Fukuoka, Japan. It was formerly known as Itazuke Air Base and is an international and domestic airport. It is currently considered a second class airport and is already operating at full capacity and hence can no longer be further expanded.

The airport is located specifically in Hakata-ku, south east of the city center. It is connected to the city by various ground transportation including train, buses, and taxi. An available subway from the airport to the business district takes less than ten minutes traveling time. Fukuoka Airport is the fourth busiest passenger airport in Japan.
