Since 1970, the Full Circle Bookstore of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has grown to become the largest independent bookstore in the state. Founded by Mark McGee, the store was, and is still, aimed at a counter-culture audience. Although all but destroyed by a fired in August of 1978, a change in locale and expansions in 1985 and 1992 tripled the size of the bookstore and saw the addition of features like Java Joe’s Coffee Bar. The Full Circle Bookstore of today has more than 60,000 titles in stock from genres like fiction, biography, history, culture, mystery, cooking, crafts, fashion, home décor, women’s studies, education, health, entertainment, travel, classic literature, Oklahoma authors, Native American books, regional interest titles, magazines, cards, maps and gifts. While browsing shoppers marvel at the oak bookshelves with rolling ladders, fireplaces and cozy seating while enjoying the relaxing background music, or grabbing a bite to eat in the Garden Café. Visit the Full Circle Bookstore from 10am-9pm Monday to Thursday, 10am-10pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 12 noon-5pm Sundays.
