Nestled in the middle of downtown Garden City, the century old Garden City Amtrak Station has served as a transportation hub of Garden City since 1907. Declared a historic landmark in the wake of a 2002 renovation effort by the Finney County Preservation Alliance, the station now serves almost 7,000 passengers annually.

Originally built by the famous Santa Fe Railroad, the Garden City Amtrak Station now serves Amtrak’s Southwest Chief Line, which stretches from Los Angeles, California to Chicago, Illinois. The Garden City Station is one stop west of historic Dodge City, Kansas, and east of the Lamar, Colorado station, which marks the Colorado State Line.

Located at 100 North 7th Street, the Garden City Amtrak Station is open Tuesday through Friday from 6 A.M. until 9 A.M. and again from 10 P.M. until midnight, Saturdays 6 A.M. until 9 A.M., and Mondays from 10 P.M. until midnight.
