The Gardens or simply Gardens is an inner-city suburb located in Cape Town, particularly at the southern part of the city centre, and is located on the higher parts of the City Bowl. It lies directly beneath Lion’s Head and Table Mountain, and it is known for its affluent neighborhood that is populated mostly by yuppies or young professionals.

One of the main attractions in the area is the numerous chic restaurants, loft apartments, boutiques, and hotels where guests can stay to enjoy the space. The area is also known for being one of the main hubs in Cape Town that focus on the creative history. In fact, the area is where e.tv is being hosted.

There are a number of places of interest in The Gardens, and one of these is the first statue that has been erected in South Africa. This statue is that of Sir George Grey that can be found standing in front of the public library. There is also the South African Museum, which is the oldest in the country, as it was established in 1825.
