Gare de Nice Saint-Roch

The Gare Saint-Roch station or Montpellier-Saint-Roch is the Montpellier train station in France opened to passengers. It is named after Saint Roch, a native of the city in the fourteenth century. It was commonly called the Montpellier station before.

The first station of Montpellier was built as the terminus of the Montpellier line. In the 1830s, after the failure of companies Garnier, then Mellet and Henry, the concession of the line was finally granted on the 26th of March 1837 by the Chamber of Deputies to a group led by Thomas Brunton, director of Foundries and Forges d'Alais.

The train station itself has a heritage facade and a corps of three levels building (crossings beneath roads, paths and level ground floor, first floor windows of the sale). A slab above tract supports the first floor and parking (formerly the location of the bus station).
