Thus, it was a result of the mining works carried out by Romans around 2000 years ago that resulted in the existence of these caves. The history of the caves have been carefully preserved by years’ worth of fossil records. The caves are open for tourists all year round except from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day and the visiting hours and the train tour timings vary from time to time.
