Located at 800 Griffiths Way in the center of the Canadian city of Vancouver, General Motors Place (or simply "The Garage" to locals) is a world class multi-purpose indoor sports arena that is the home playing venue for the Vancouver Canucks NHL team. General Motors Place has a total seating capacity of more than 19,000 spectators for basketball games (a little over 18,000 for hockey games) and includes some 2,000+ club seats, 12 hospitality suites, and 88 different luxury suites.

Having originally opened in 1995 with a construction bill of $160 million, it is the principal sports arena in Vancouver. It will be the venue for many events, principally in ice hockey, for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games (during which it will be renamed due to restrictions on Olympic venues having corporate sponsor names).
