The Georgia Dome is an enormous domed sports stadium that held the title of largest domed structure in the world until the completion of the Millennium Dome in London in the year 1999. The Georgia dome is located in downtown Atlanta at 1 Georgia Dome Drive, facing downtown Atlanta to the east and Vine City to the west.

The stadium is owned and operated by the state of Georgia and is considered a part of its Georgia World Congress Center. The dome is also the home playing field of the Atlanta Falcons, the city's NFL football team.

The dome was finished in 1992 and has experienced several renovations over the years, the most recent being the widening of end zone screens to improve replay visibility for the crowd.

The stadium has a seating capacity that averages at about 75,000 people but that varies determined by the function the dome has for a given event (sports, concerts, closed or open dome, etc.).
