Geuzenveld-Slotermeer is a district in Amsterdam in the Dutch province of Noord-Holland. The district is a mere 10 km ², with over 40,000 people inhabiting it.
Geuzenveld-Slotermeer was established as a district in 1990. Since 2001, large works are underway under a program called “Urban Renewal”. A lot of houses are demolished and replaced by new, environmentally sound construction. Since September 2009 the inhabitants of this area are invited to take part at an ecological program with a great assistance from the district’s budget.

The district hosts the annual Geuzenveld-Slotermeer Festival. Besides the information booths and cooking workshops, there are many live shows and, architecture and history lovers can visit the area on a bus tour. Another festival is The Autumn Multicultural Festival held during October.
The Market Square Koopzondag (weekends) offers visitors entertainment including live local music and street theatre as well as the quaint market that sells everything from plants to socks, from dresses bicycle locks to cheese to DVDs.
