Gloria Dei is the oldest church in Pennsylvania; the structure that stands now on Colombus Boulevard was built in 1700 and has a vast collection of historical and religious artifacts. The church was designated as a National Historic Site in the early 1940’s and continues to serve as a place of worship for local residents.

Gloria Dei, also know as Old Swedes’ Church, is open Tuesday through Sunday, September to May, and daily throughout the rest of the year from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The church houses many interesting historical items and its cemetery is the final resting place of many members of George Washington’s army.
