The Glynco Jetport was renamed the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport (BQK) in 2003. Located in Glynn County, Georgia, this airport serves private planes, for the most part, though Delta Air Lines does offer flights. This airport was built during World War II by the United States Navy as an operations base for blimps. Today, approximately 75% of the air traffic is "general aviation" (ie, small, privately-owned planes), with the remainder of traffic split between commercial and military flights. Passengers enjoy a brand new terminal completed in 2005, and a new control tower was built the same year.
