Located at 25 South La Patera Lane in the middle of the city of Goleta, California, the Goleta Amtrak Station provides passengers with service along the Pacific Surfliner rail line, which connects the cities of San Diego on one end with San Luis Obispo on the other. The station is not staffed by Amtrak personnel and therefore there is no help with baggage or ability to check baggage; passengers are allowed to bring two suitcases and personal effects on board the train on their own.

The Goleta Amtrak Station has ten different Pacific Surfliner trains either pass through, originate or terminate in the station each day. Of the ten, six trains either originate or terminate in Goleta in connection with the San Diego station, while the remaining four offer through service towards the city of San Luis Obispo. There are no station hours; passengers simply arrive when trains will stop at the station.
