A ten minute drive from the city centre of Agadir will bring you to the Golf Club Med les Dunes, a three 9 hole-course designed by Cabell B. Robinson, creator of some of the most famous golf courses in the world.

Opened in 1991, Golf Club Med les Dunes is situated on gently rolling land flanked by eucalyptus trees. It has a range of facilities, including a golf academy, locker rooms, driving range, practice area, putting green, pitching green and practice bunkers. Clubs, buggies, electro carts and caddies are available for hire. The latter is compulsory.

If you get hungry or fancy a drink after putting all day, there is also a clubhouse featuring a restaurant and a snack-bar catering to your needs. The snack bar even has a terrace overlooking the practice ground.

The three courses consist of a Yellow course, L’Oued, a Blue course, L’Eucalyptus, and a Red course, Le Tamaris.

The 3174 m longL’Eucalyptus has, as the name suggests, large fairways lined with eucalyptus trees. For the more advanced, Le Tamaris will probably require a lot of shots, with its varied vegetation of two lush lakes, clumps of tamarisk and broom, as well as a eucalyptus forest. At 3208 m, this course is the longest of the three.

L’Oued is the shortest at 3050 m, but it is also the trickiest and will require all the skills in your arsenal. All three courses are par 36. Golf enthusiasts will be pleased to note that there is no closing day and credit cards are accepted. The handicap limit is 35 and players need to produce a valid handicap certificate from their home club. Green fees are between €41 and €63..

Being so close to Agadir means there is no shortage of places to stay.
