Located near the quaint seaside town of Enniscroe, 3 hours and 15 minutes from the Irish capital Dublin, the Enniscrone Golf Club offers great panoramic views of sandy beaches and mountains.

The club was founded in 1918 and has since then been awarded plenty of accolades, including winner of the IGTOA Course of the Year in 2008, Venue for the GUI Men’s Irish Close Championship in June 2009 and Venue for the ILGU Ladies Interprovidencial July 2009. It is considered one of Ireland’s finest authentic golf links.

The great course designer Eddie Hackett built some of the finest golf holes of his career here in 1974, known as the Dunes because the holes were shaped and blended in the sand dunes. In 2001 the Enniscrone was again redesigned by Donald Steel, who rerouted the course directly into the dunes.

Visitors can choose between the Dunes (18 Holes with 73 par) and Scurmore (9 Holes). There is a bar and a restaurant looking over the Course, as well as a pro shop. Other facilities include practice and chipping areas and a putting green. There is buggy and trolley hire and caddies are available for hire in advance.

Individual green fees start at €60 during the week, rising to €75 for the weekend. Club rules dictate that your round should be completed in under 4 hours 15 minutes.

There are numerous hotels in Enniscrone itself and in the surrounding area, ranging from the 3 star Ceol Na Mara guest house overlooking the ocean to the leading hotel The Downhill House Hotel situated near Ballina close to the River Moy.
