Situated amongst the vineyards of the Médoc, Golf du Médoc Hotel and Spa’s four star golf and hotel resort provide a mixture of golf and gastronomic delights.

Only 20 minutes drive away from Bordeaux and the international airport, Golf du Médoc offers regional high cuisine in its restaurant overlooking the 18th green of the Chateaux Course, as well as wine tasting and spa treatments.

The real draw for many however is the internationally renowned 18 hole golf courses, the Chateaux and the Vignes, opened in 1989.

The Chateaux course is a technical course in the Scottish links tradition and was designed by the famous architect Bill Coore in 1989. Together with former Masters Champion Ben Crenshaw, the two have made their mark on the golf world with their original designs of only classic and natural golf courses.

The 6,316 meters long heathland course provides a challenge with its wide fairways lined with heathers, fast greens and difficult layout. Not to mention the frequent gusts of wind sweeping in from the nearby ocean. Considering the different obstacles facing each shot, this is a course which requires a level head and a strategic sense of play. Par is 71.

The Vignes course was designed by Rod Whitman and is more of a regional landscape course. The design of the course is enhanced by the atmospheric moors and maritime pine trees surrounding it. Again players face obstacles, with the variety in holes and difficulty levels. The long par-5 holes for instance, require a precise shot considering its strategically placed greens and well positioned bunkers. The course is 6,220 meters long and has a par of 71.

Numerous Champions have played both courses, including, Sergio Garcia and Colin Montgomerie and the Chateaux course is listed as the 12th best course in France. The usual facilities that you would expect from a top golf resort are available, such as driving range, pro shop, club hire and golf lessons.
