A number of shows can be seen in both The Sky Theater, which simply projects the clear night sky and offers a guided tour of the stars, and The Definiti Space Theater, which offers an incredible virtual reality like experience for seeing the outer limits of space.

Shows are arranged for different age groups, with The Definiti Space Theater housing Cosmic Collisions and The Interstellar Boundary Experience for older visitors, as well as One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure for younger guests. For 3D screenings, there's The Universe Theatre, where you're just as likely to catch a fun film designed for children as you are an informative journey through the universe.

The Adler Planetarium isn't just about theater programs, though. There's also an observatory, as well as a number of permanent and visiting exhibits that have to do with everything from skywatching in Africa to permanent installations detailing the history of the solar system, the Milky Way galaxy, and even The Big Bang.

The Adler Planetarium is open Monday through Friday from ten until four and on Saturday and Sunday from ten until four thirty. Sometimes, special showings occur at different hours, so check with the website for the latest details.
