The Goodwood Museum and Gardens is a popular tourist destination for those visiting Tallahassee, Florida. The estate has its beginnings in the 1830’s and has since passed hands among various wealthy landowners and elite Tallahassee residents over the years. The estate began a restoration period in the late 1970’s and opened about 10 years later as a museum and public park. The main home itself, which houses the museum, is a fine example of plantation-style architecture and features various pieces including antique furnishings and photographs. The garden is a delight to visit year-round and is especially known for its collection of Old Garden Roses.

Tours of the Main House Museum are available from Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission for adults is $6; guests can visit the gardens at no charge. The Goodwood Museum and Gardens are situated on sixteen sprawling acres; the grounds also feature a roller rink and reflecting pool.
