Goose Lake Park is one of the more pleasant parks inside the city limits of Anchorage, Alaska, with the lake itself containing almost 2 million cubic feet of water. The park was originally property of the US Army, but in the 1950s it was deeded to the city of Anchorage to be used as recreational land. Though at one point there was the intention to add a housing development to the park area, the plan was refuted and the park remained purely for recreational purposes.

Goose Lake Park lies right alongside the University of Alaska-Anchorage, and it is curiously the preferred nesting area of loons in the area (despite being smack dab in the middle of the city). The park offers various amenities, such as a netted swimming area for young children, a picnic shelter, a baseball field, walking trails, cross country ski trails in the winter, play equipment for children of various ages, and a basketball court. Furthermore, the lake is open for ice skating during the winter (in addition to swimming during the summer).

As it is located in the center of town, there are scores of lodgings for visitors to patronize, such as the Winterlake Lodge, the Residence Inn Anchorage Midtown, and the Creekwood Inn, among others.
