One of the most historical landmarks of Tasmania, the Government House is located in the Lower domain road in the Queens Domain. It was built using sandstone in the nineteenth century and was designed by the director of public works at the time, William Porden Kay. Completed in 1857, the palatial Government house is where the Governor of Tasmania resides.
