Gråbrødretorv is a public square located in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. The Gråbrødretorv square is characterized by colorful house fronts; a plane tree and restaurants that include out-door service. The Gråbrødretorv square is a popular venue for concerts, especially during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. The Gråbrødretorv square derives its name from a Franciscan convent, which was located at the site from 1238-1530. Corfitz Ulfeldt built a mansion at the site during the middle of the 17th century, from this time the square came to be known as Uhlfeldts Plads. The square includes a large plane tree and a granite fountain designed by Søren Georg Jensens.
