Located in the northwestern corner of the US state of Arizona, the Grand Canyon is one of the most iconic and recognizable natural wonders in the world, and it attracts countless visitors each year in search of incomparable panoramic vistas and experiences close to nature. The Grand Canyon National Park encapsulates the entire canyon and manages the area, which comprises a total of 1,902 square miles (distributed between Mohave and Coconino counties).

The park has its headquarters at the Grand Canyon Village, and all accommodations are provided courtesy of the Xanterra corporation (different lodgings are located throughout the park). The entire area was designated as a US national park in the year 1919, and in 1979 the UN declared the Grand Canyon National Park to be a World Heritage Site.

Entrance fees to the park cost $25 per vehicle or alternatively $12 for individuals entering on foot or motorcycle, horse, bike, etc. The South Rim area is open year round without interruption, while the North Rim is only open to visitors between the months of May and October. Lodging is charged separately, and the prices at the various different locations range from approximately $52 per night to $322 per night.
