One of the biggest destinations for businesspeople is The Greater Columbus Convention Center, located right in the heart of downtown Columbus. More than just a spot for businesses and companies to have their annual conferences and meetings, The Greater Columbus Convention Center also hosts The Columbus International Auto Show, as well as The Arnold Sports Festival and The Origins Game Fair.

Opened in 1993, the building underwent an expansion a few years later to truly modernize the building with the latest technology. The building's curving pavilion design was the brainchild of an architect who won a contest to design the space. Most of the meeting rooms and offices are located on the side of the convention center that faces High Street. There is a series of bridges that connect the center with nearby hotels and shopping areas.

Depending on what's in town, the hours at The Greater Columbus Convention Center vary. A number of hotels are located very near to the convention center, and Te Hyatt Regency is actually attached via a walkway. Other close choices include The Crowne Plaza Hotel Downtown, The Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown, and The Drury Inn Convention Center.
